Global phenomenon Pokémon GO has attracted the weird and wonderful since its release earlier this year and while it has garnered criticism, overall the game has been well received. However, it’s not always safe and a user found that out while live streaming on Twitch recently.

Twitch streamer Rickeybot was live-streaming the popular app in Central Park, New York when he was jumped and mugged by an assailant without warning. The whole incident was captured on the live stream and makes for some tough watching.

The video shown below will be upsetting to some.

Looking for a positive, the mugger’s face was captured during the robbery which could lead to his arrest in the future. As for Rickeybot, the Twitch user spoke with the police for some time after before making his way to a hospital for injuries he sustained during the attack.

This once again highlights the dangerous nature of playing Pokémon Go or any other mobile games when roaming the streets at night. Walking around with your phone out for everyone to see makes you look like a Christmas tree.

Think before you act or end up without a phone and in the hospital. We wish Rickeybot all the best.
