Pokémon GO players going to great lengths to catch rare Pokémon isn’t unheard of. It sometimes leads to injury when you enter areas you really shouldn’t be, take cliffs for example, and sometimes can get you lost when out in more rural areas.
However, there’s an upside to hunting Pokémon in areas totally secluded and away from any Gyms or PokéStops. The process involves the player using “Incense” in an area where no Pokémon are pushing towards showing up, with the results of one Redditor making for some interesting reading.
User Apavlinovic was in a rural area of Rašćane, Croatia recently and decided to use Incense to see what would exactly happen in a barren region void of Pokémon.
Check out the video below to give you an idea how Incense and rare Pokémon work together.
After using the Incense 5 times, Apavlinovic posted the results and was able to pick up a couple rare Pokémon.
Total Pokemon: ~ 23 (some ran away / disappeared due to poor network coverage)
What he Caught:
- Ryhno, Seel, Persian, Weepinbell, Graveler
- 3 Geodudes
- 3 Sandshrews
- Bellsprout, Meowth, Diglett and Nidoran
- Zubat, Spearow and Weedle
Not a bad haul for an area not expected to hold rare Pokémon. Have you ever used Incense in rural areas to catch rare Pokémon?
